Devon Defenders was founded by Simon Tomlinson – a lifelong automotive enthusiast with a passion for all things Land Rover. Engineering runs in Simon’s blood. Growing up in Barnstaple, Devon, he spent his childhood passing tools to his late father, tinkering with old Porsches and VWs in the family garage. His father, originally from Sheffield, worked in the Tomlinson garage in the 1970s, sparking Simon’s lifelong fascination with vehicles.

Simon’s journey with Land Rovers began when he stumbled across his first Defender in need of repair – a familiar story for many owners! He quickly fell in love with the challenge of tracking down leaks, solving electrical mysteries, and bringing these iconic “old girls” back to life. Over time, he developed a talent for spotting rare models tucked away in barns and sourcing original Land Rover parts to revive them.

Today, Simon channels his expertise into sourcing genuine parts, refurbishing original Land Rover wheels, and creating custom wheel and tyre packages for enthusiasts across the UK. From banded wheels for a tougher stance to colourful powder-coated finishes, he helps Defender owners give their vehicles the perfect look – and the off-road capability to match.

Alongside his partner Rebecca, Simon travels to Land Rover shows nationwide, sharing knowledge, supplying parts, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts.
